Adam, an aging former swimming champion, is a pool attendant at a hotel in Chad. When new owners take over the resort, he loses his job to his son, leaving Adam humiliated and resentful. After rebel forces attack the government and authorities demand resources to combat the raging civil war, Adam makes a painful decision that he comes to regret.
