A series of prostitute murders in Paris has the public living in fear that a serial killer is on the loose. Hélène Picard, a prostitute, is sentenced and executed for the crimes, but shortly thereafter the killings continue. Executioner Louis Guilbot, meanwhile, develops a relationship with the investigating officer, Solange, who learns Louis may not be who he says he is.

Filmed during the tumultuous events of May 1968, Jean-Denis Bonan's A WOMAN KILLS was initially banned due to controversy surrounding some of the director's earlier shorts, and producer Anatole Dauman (The Beast, Hiroshima mon amour) was unable to find distribution for the film for decades. Now newly restored in 2K, this New Wave-influenced horror-crime hybrid, which echoes the work of Polanski and Franju, can be seen 50 years later.
