Winner of the Tiger Award, the top prize at the prestigious Rotterdam Internationall Film Festival, and invited to over 30 film festivals, including Berlin and Toronto, ALAMAR is a heartwarming father-and-son coming of age tale that the family will love. Jorge has only a few weeks with his five-year-old son Natan before he leaves to live with his mother in Rome. Intent on teaching Natan about their Mayan heritage, Jorge takes him to the pristine Chinchorro reef, and eases him into the rhythms of a fisherman's life. As the bond between father and son grows stronger, Natan learns to live in harmony with life above and below the surface of the sea.
New York Times Critic’s Pick ALAMAR won the Tiger Award at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and is “an assured, refreshingly simple film where the dramas and responsibilities of parenthood exist inside a bubble of blissed-out tropicalia.” (Time Out)
