Thomas (Bruno Todeschini) is slowly dying. Having come to terms with his fate, he retreats to the coastal home of his childhood to await the end. His impending death sends quiet shockwaves through those around him – most profoundly affecting his estranged brother Luc (Eric Caravaca) – forcing both men to confront their past and reconsider the course of their lives.
One of the final films from French director Patrice Chéreau, HIS BROTHER had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival where it won the prize for Best Director.
“It has the raw, unsettling power, and the surprising tenderness, of a Lucian Freud painting brought to life.” –The New York Times (Critic's Pick)
