Cold Sweat
Documentary, Drama, Sports
Afrooz is the captain of the Iran Futsal National Team, whose dream of playing in the Asian Games Final has finally come true after eleven years of hard-fought competition. While at the airport, she is informed by immigration officials that her husband, a famous television host, has exercised his legal right to ban her from exiting the country. The league, her lawyer, and teammates all believe that the only solution is to persuade her husband to reconsider, but with the law on his side, there is little hope of convincing him otherwise.
Based on a true story, COLD SWEAT is the second feature from Iranian writer-director Soheil Beiraghi. Hailed as a "piercing drama of inequality" by The Hollywood Reporter, the controversial film had its world premiere at Iran's Fajr Film Festival, where it won three awards including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Editor.
