A little girl (Cristina Magnotti) and her mother (Valeria Golino) live in a plain suburb. Her mother calls her Nancy, but the girl is not convinced. Her friends are the only ones who understand her, telling her she is a princess called Fortuna and must find her way back to her planet. However, an unspeakable secret shadows their lives.
The feature directorial debut of Neapolitan filmmaker Nicolangelo Gelormini, FORTUNA had its world premiere at the Rome Film Fest and went on to receive two nominations from the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists for Best Actress (Valeria Golino) and Best Supporting Actress (Pina Turco).
“Something like 'The Double Life of Veronique' filtered through the dark imagination of David Lynch, it establishes debut feature director Nicolangelo Gelormini as a fresh new voice in Italian cinema.” –Dirty Movies
