A dysfunctional family is turned upside down when a seemingly perfect German exchange student moves in. Trapped in the middle is fifteen-year-old Eva, a neglected wallflower struggling for attention and affection. During the student’s two-week stay, his presence forces each member of the family to confront their insecurities, fears, and desires. But no one changes more dramatically than Eva.
Premiering at TIFF, THE DEFLOWERING OF EVA VAN END is the “quirky” feature debut of Dutch filmmaker Michiel ten Horn in which “Pasolini’s Teorema is successfully transplanted to Dutch suburbs” (Variety).
