Disillusioned with university life, Toru Konishi finds his monotonous world transformed when he meets Hana Sakurada, a spirited young woman whose outlook on life echoes the cherished words of his late grandmother. As a series of remarkable coincidences draws them closer, an unexpected romance blossoms, bringing newfound happiness until a shocking turn of events threatens their future together.

Premiering at the Tokyo International Film Festival, SHE TAUGHT ME SERENDIPITY is a poignant “little gem” (Forbes) from acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Akiko Oku, whose previous films Tremble All You Want and Hold Me Back both won the festival's Audience Award.
