Gunnar, a farmer living a quiet life in the remote Icelandic countryside, is forced by the state to sell his home. Leaving everything behind, he relocates to Reykjavík, where he soon meets Ari, a ten-year-old paper delivery boy. An unlikely friendship develops between them, transforming both their lives in unexpected ways.

A world premiere at TIFF and an Edda Award nominee for Best Film, SOLITUDE, the directorial feature debut from award-winning Icelandic filmmaker Ninna Pálmadóttir, presents a “fleet, gentle study of a melancholic farmer looking for connection” (Cineuropa) that is “both a lament and a balm for why the modern world will not let us have nice things.” (Screen Anarchy).
