Jane (Iina Kuustonen) works at a travel agency, selling adventures to others while stuck in her own safe and predictable everyday life. Her boyfriend, Mikki (Riku Nieminen), is a struggling actor, and even though the passion between them has cooled, she is shocked when he suggests that they open up their relationship. Trying to not lose him, Jane agrees to attend an island sex party, which sparks some unexpected emotions.

A world premiere at the Göteborg Film Festival, SUDDEN OUTBURSTS OF EMOTIONS, the directorial debut from Swedish writer/director Paula Korva, is an “insightful, compassionate, and witty” dramedy that “challenges conventional romance narratives without preaching, inviting viewers to consider what love means when boundaries shift” (Upside Adelaide).
