SXSW Film Festival
Growing out of Austin's South By Southwest Music Festival in the early 1990s, the SXSW Film Festival has become one of the premiere American film festivals. With a strong selection each year of American indie films, documentaries (including of course strong music docs) and a highly selective group of films from around the world, SXSW is a vital festival. The great barbecue and Tex-Mex food in Austin adds to festival-goers enjoyment.
