The Propaganda Game
Formerly known as The Hermit Kingdom for its desire to remain isolated, North Korea is the last communist country and the largest source of instability in regard to world peace. It also has the most militarized border of any nation, and the flow of impartial information – both in and out – is practically non-existent. It is the perfect setting for a propaganda war.
Granted controlled access by national officials, filmmaker Alvaro Longoria toured North Korea to contrast his findings with the typical Western depiction of the totalitarian state in THE PROPAGANDA GAME, which won the CEC Award for Best Documentary at Spain's Cinema Writers Circle Awards.
“Raising as many questions as it answers, Álvaro's film highlights how little we know of real life in North Korea, and how much propaganda from both sides continues to cloud international understanding.” –The Observer
