Drama
After arriving at an Italian villa, vacationing couple Adam (Dobromir Dymecki) and Anna (Agnieszka Żulewska) discover that the swimming pool is empty. Ignorant to the fact that the island is facing a water shortage, they call for it to be repaired. But when the migrant worker sent to fix the problem suffers a deadly accident, the chain of events that follows shakes their moral foundations to the core.
A “truly impressive debut” from Polish writer-director Aga Woszczyńska, SILENT LAND is a “meticulous character study featuring stunning performances and camera work” (Film Inquiry) that debuted at TIFF before picking up the FIPRESCI Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.
“A beautifully composed and superbly acted slice of slow-cinema, Aga Woszczyńska's debut feature SILENT LAND speaks volumes.” –Film Obsessive
