Life without a home is not always easy, but Hector McAdam (Peter Mullan) is embarking on his annual journey from Scotland to London, where comrades, Christmas cheer and a hot turkey dinner are waiting for him. Since this year's pilgrimage may be his last, he decides to take some alternate routes to reconnect with his past and reunite with those he left behind. His cross country odyssey brings chance encounters with companions old and new, while stirring up memories, resentments and regrets along with fresh hope for the future.
