A sleazy tenant spies on his downstairs neighbors using holes in the attic floorboards, secretly observing their most intimate and bizarre private moments. After witnessing a woman being tortured by her lover during the height of passion, he becomes convinced that he has found his soul mate. Giving in to his murderous impulses, he decides to commit the perfect crime in order to save her.

Based on the short story “The Stalker in the Attic” by the legendary Japanese master of horror Edogawa Ranpo, THE CRAWLER IN THE ATTIC is an “unapologetically provocative” and “striking” adaptation by director Shoji Kubota that “embraces the lurid and unsettling qualities of the source material” (Asian Movie Pulse).
