Drama, Kids and Family
The Attorre family lives in the suburbs on the outskirts of Rome. Luca (Adriano Giannini), a frustrated freelance journalist, struggles to support Susi (Micaela Ramazzotti), a former ballerina who is now reduced to teaching dance classes for weight loss, and Lucilla (Elisa Miccoli), their quiet six-year-old child, who suffers from severe asthma. Arriving to lend a hand is Mary Ann (Roisin O'Donovan), an Irish art history student and au pair, whose luminous presence is a godsend to Susi but an unsettling distraction to a suddenly lovestruck Luca.
Francesca Archibugi's latest exploration of Italian family dysfunction, VIVERE features a screenplay co-written by Paolo Virzì and had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
