In this heartwarming urban fairy tale, Fede suffers from obesity and rarely leaves his apartment. Living in isolation, his only human contact comes from weekly visits by his overbearing sister and her long-suffering husband, Ramón. After his brother-in-law shows him vacation photos, Fede becomes inspired to leave his home and develop an old roll of film. During the trip to the camera store he meets Paulo, a lonely teenager who loves comic books. Unexpectedly, the three form a friendship that changes each of their lives forever.
Nominated for five Ariel Awards (Mexican Academy Awards), WALKING DISTANCE premiered at the Montreal Festival du Nouveau Cinéma where it received a Special Jury Mention and was hailed as a “sweet-natured and touchingly observed film” (Cult MTL).
