Amidst the chaos surrounding the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War, Banu has four days to mount a defense against her influential soon-to-be ex-husband, Javid. He wants to get full custody of their son and is claiming that Banu is an unfit mother who suffers from psychiatric issues. With no time to spare, Banu desperately searches for a single person to speak on her behalf.
Written, directed by and starring Azerbaijani actress and filmmaker Tahmina Rafaella, BANU had its world premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival, where it was awarded the HFPA Special Prize.
