Janusz (Janusz Gajos) is a crime scene investigator who is not easily fazed and has seen it all. But when dealing with his anorexic daughter, Olga (Justyna Suwala), who is still grieving the loss of her recently deceased mother, he feels helpless. Fearing that she might harm herself, Janusz commits her to a clinic where she is treated by Anna (Maja Ostaszewska), a psychologist who claims she can communicate with dead loved ones.
From Malgorzata Szumowska, the acclaimed writer/director of MUG (also streaming on Film Movement Plus), BODY had its world premiere at the Berlinale where it received the Silver Bear for Best Director before taking home the prizes for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor (Janusz Gajos) and Best Actress (Maja Ostaszewska) at the Polish Film Awards.
