Screenwriter Stefan (Julian Sands) and his wife Alina (Joanna Pacuła) share an open marriage that allows each partner the freedom to explore their own sexual desires. But Stefan begins to suffer from insecurity and creative stagnation when Alina decides to spend weekends with her lover, Paolo (Tcheky Karyo). Meanwhile, she becomes increasingly drawn to his violent intensity.
