A seemingly aimless drifter on the run returns to his hometown incognito. Although some locals recognize him, he vehemently denies his identity and murky past while starting an affair with the woman who owns the porno theater where he works. He then falls in with some bohemians and lets his hair down on a lurid path of sex and violence including an elaborate tryst across the dunes of the beach.
Channeling youthful angst, rebellion and ennui, LOVERS ARE WET proved director Tatsumi Kumashiro one of the leading auteurs of the genre with an “unconventional and surprising” Roman Porno production that “demonstrates an admirable degree of attention to both character development and sex scenes alike” (J-Film Pow-Wow).
