Denmark 2025. One year after a major terrorist attack in Copenhagen, anti-immigrant sentiment has intensified and ethnic tensions are at an all-time high inside Denmark. The next parliamentary election is near, and nationalist political leader Martin Nordahl is set for a landslide victory. Newly indoctrinated into a radical group, nineteen-year-old Zakaria becomes part of an assassination attempt on Nordahl and forms a bond with Malik, a supposed fellow member of the cause. As both men attempt to make their marks, their brotherhood will be tested as each of their actions lead to grave consequences.
The acclaimed feature debut from Danish filmmaker Ulaa Salim, SONS OF DENMARK had its world premiere in competition at the Rotterdam International Film Festival where it was praised as an “ambitious, provocative, politically charged thriller” (The Hollywood Reporter).
