Heinrich von Kleist - Romantic Poet

Heinrich von Kleist (1777-1811) was a German poet, dramatist, novelist and journalist. One of his best-known works was The Marquise of O, later adapted as a film by Eric Rohmer. Kleist famously died in a double suicide with Henriette Vogel, which became the subject of Jessica Hausner's film Amour Fou, a dark satire of the Romantic view of love and death. We offer both films together as a special double feature.
